Phantom Money is a thriller revolving around a LA-based lawyer and screenwriter who gets drawn into a complex scheme by the head of a powerful Mexican drug cartel. To survive, he’ll need to launder a mountain of money in an impossibly short time, deceive an FBI strike team, and outwit a drug lord whose minions are watching his every move.

After two rounds of designs, the author decided he wanted to take a simple approach of showcasing the city of Los Angeles, the location of where the majority of the book takes place. I needed to dress it up and a way to do that was with a unique title placement. Distancing the two words of the title across the whole cover drew the viewer’s eye across the whole composition.

The author was pleased with the final result and loved that the design enveloped the grittiness of the story through the texture that is used across the visuals of the cover.
