The aim of this shoot was to create mysterious and enigmatic portraits that touched on ideas of identity and privacy.

We approached this shoot with a very specific casting brief - looking for a variety of different model types with unique and interesting faces. The 'cut out' aspect was done afterward - playing around with rough A3 printouts which were cut up in various ways to figure out the best way forward.

The original portraits were strong to begin with – nicely lit, well styled and the people we shot were really great. But when we combined these faces together in collage they took on a whole new feel – they became enigmatic and engaging. We weren’t sure how well it would work – but are really pleased with the final result.
