The BWMC logo was kept simple because of the volume and variety of uses it would need to have. Because it is a medical center, the logo would be placed in and around heavily structured informational signage and systems, so it needed to read quickly and without being too detail heavy. The Boston Women’s Medical Center logo has two layers of meaning: First and most obviously, it is a ‘B’ Second and finally, the symbol of Venus takes the place of the counters inside the ‘B’.
