Internally as a studio, we wanted to capture our point of view on creativity in a way that felt uniquely us. But also in a way that could be shared more broadly with the world. We found our inspiration in the city we call home—and created a series of posters that brings our perspective to life.
Tension fuels creativity. Lucky for us, Chicago is a town where tension is never in short supply—and the city known for its Midwestern humility also has the biggest shoulders around. This poster celebrates “Humble Pride” as one of the extreme forces that push and pull us in new directions every day, shaping our culture and fueling our ideas. Quotes by Mohammad Ali and Saint Augustine play in opposition to each other through color and contrasting lettering styles that reveal the tension between ego and humility; impulse and control; aggression and restraint.
We activated our office space as a creative environment; created a strong storytelling device for clients, visitors and social media; provoked intrigue around our creative process; and found an inspiring new way to explore and express our point of view in everything we say, do and make together as a studio.
