This brochure was used as marketing collateral for two of David Sutherland Inc.’s companies (Sutherland and Perennials) at the 2009 Maison Objet show in Paris. The two companies manufacture fine outdoor furniture and fabrics, respectively. Both the brochure and the companies’ booth at the show were themed “Nocturne.” The concept was to take a peek at the lives of these outdoor furnishings at night, after everybody goes to sleep. What we found out is that these furnishings spend their evenings with the creatures of the night. A good portion of the photography for this oversize (16” x 20”) brochure was accomplished with over several nights with an infrared trail camera. The wait was worthwhile, as eventually we captured several images of nocturnal visitors to our pieces and fabrics.
