For this assignment, we must conceptualize a magazine periodical/zine concept of our choice. The selected topic should be a reflection of our interests, but at the same time, it should consider the audience that it wants to reach and what the competition on the field is doing.

I chose independent games as my magazine topic. Jeu Secret, meaning "Secret Game", is a magazine about how people feel about independent games and the game arts. I used Lo-Res as my main typeface. The Lo-Res family of fonts is a synthesis of pixelated design, which strongly conveys the digital and gaming concept of my work. Also, I made the layout of the opening pages and the content page look like coding, which shows the feeling of the digital world.

The typeface selection and the layout give the audiences the feeling of gaming and digital game arts, which is the main topic of the magazine. Audiences can enjoy the articles not only with the article itself, but also the design of the magazine. When people are reading the words, it actually feels like they are still playing the games.
