Life as a graphic designer is like an architectural endeavor. We investigate a problem, consider material options, and continuously deconstruct, rework and redefine the final object before creating a blueprint to build the most effective design solution possible. The floor plan analogy represents us as graduating student designers, and our experience at SAIC has prepared us well for becoming professional designers. I composed the floor plan using deconstructed elements that reflect the courses within the Visual Communication Design department. Photos, line drawings, elemental shapes and symbols, grid systems, and typography combine to create various floor plans. Each spread forms a unique, unified floor plan, which includes the title and contents.
