SARAJEVO 1914-2014: Memory Poster 1914-2014 was a period of a century in which much many things happened and it all started with assassination of the Austria-Hungarian prince in Sarajevo in 1914, which marked the beginning of the first world war. After that came the Second World War, then the division of the world into East and West, changes in 1990 etc. The resulting antagonisms between systems of political order and economic system are still here in 2014. In a hundred years they have not been overcome.
Approach When a political party accepts the other regardless of how different they might be, peace can be each on the world-wide scale. The usual political gesture is handshaking in public before the cameras and the public media. But handshake is not possible when one party gives their left and the other their right hand. This unusual approach was achieved by photographing only one hand in the mirror, so in the picture we have two hands in an interesting position. A large number of photo shops represents a large number of attempts from 1914-2014.
Result The poster is a political and wider social message for the turbulent times in which we live and in the begin of the 21st century.
