This was a three spread design problem I solved for TUSK Magazine (Cal State Fullerton's design magazine). Our journalism team took a trip to Guatemala and gave us a large amount of photos to create a story from.

Short and sweet captions with their own space, but strong doses of vibrant color back the captions sampled from the photos they are relevant to. Clean, contemporary design allows spacing and sections to use photos which needed heavy cropping or were not of sufficient resolution, while allowing the captions to not impede on the photos themselves.

The results came out beautifully on an 8 color press and square ratio of the booklet allows for a fantastic landscape span of a photo heavy design. The design decision of the layout successfully solved the problem of working with difficult content.
