Hand-pressed woodblock-printing is a traditional printing technique with more than 1200-year history.
In the printing industry, woodblock printing had been predominant before machine&digital printing became the major stream.
TAKEZASADO - a craft center of Japanese woodblock printings, inaugurated in 1891 - has been succeeding to the analog hand-printing method and this artwork was created as their new challenge for the further possibilities and future of the analog printing.

The art work for disc jackets, expresses ten different feelings by graphical "encounters" of dots and lines. Depending on the relation among their encounters, various presentation can be available.
For each design, a printing block is carved and every disc jacket is hand-printed by the craftmen with their various techniques.

Nowadays, the world has been digitalizing in all industries. Facing its domination, the work was created by the positive match between the analog techniques of woodblock-print and analog sounds from record discs. It could make people recognised again about the existence of something analog. Also, for one of the universal theses, how to express the human feelings visually, this work can present a good example to the world by using the Japanese traditional printing technique.
