Assignment
Posters for Nepal is a non-profit organization of artists & designers who came together to make a difference. 100% of the proceeds from the Posters for Nepal sales are going directly to the relief efforts in Nepal after the devastation caused by an earthquake in April of 2015.
Approach
I chose to use the symbol of the cow, which is sacred to Hindus. The cow was declared the national animal of Nepal in the country’s newly-unveiled secular Constitution. The poster depicts this sacred animal shedding a tear at the epicenter of this 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. The image is meant to pay respect to the 8 million victims that were affected by the devastation of the earthquake.
Results
The designers for this initiative came together to help raise $ and awareness for the people of Nepal whose lives have been affected by this terrible earthquake.
