We wanted to keep the tonality of the photography serious to represent the unwavering devotion and fanaticism of the Phoenix Suns SixthMan. This meant that the energy of the piece would need to be derived through typography. The letters of “Flame” were manipulated to add dynamism and wrap around the player as if it were actual an actual flame. A black and silver metallic duotone with a spot PMS orange was printed on #100 topkote gloss with overall dull aqueous, and spot gloss varnish. The result is a dynamic piece that conveys the tone and quality of the SixthMan experience.
Season ticket holders are a massive part of any sports team’s success. The SixthMan is the name given to the Phoenix Suns season ticket holders and this was a limited run poster made especially for them. Delivered in a renewal package, this poster builds off of the 2014-15 marketing tagline of “Fuel the Fire.” In keeping with that theme we wanted to create something exclusive to let the SixthMan members know that they were the true “Keepers of the Flame” that is Phoenix Suns basketball.
At the time of entry, the Phoenix Suns SixthMan renewal campaign was ongoing. Early results show that the campaign will outperform the desired goal of 84% renewal rate.
