As part of the Junior curriculum at Tyler School of Art. Students were prompted to create their own restaurant concept. This included: naming, logo design, menu design, packaging, interior/exterior design, + web design.
Junkfood is a restaurant experience that captures the ‘trash to treasure’ spirit of thrift stores and flea markets. Our mission is to provide a retreat to escape from the hustle of the William’s Grove Farmer’s Flea Market and pay homage to the resourceful lifestyle of thrifters and homegrowers. To support the community, all of our ingredients are bought fresh every Sunday at the market.
Junkfood is a restaurant equally devoted to repurposing and replenishing and we needed to present that in our identity. When developing our brand, we made it our mission to capture the ‘handmade’ atmosphere, community centric values, and classic American cuisine that makes Junkfood.
Junkfood was recognized with a faculty award at the exhibition and was featured on WHYY's "Art of Food."
