In conjunction with the university’s presentation of the first U.S. solo museum exhibition of designs by eminent Chinese couturière Guo Pei, SCAD collaborated with alumni to produce a major monograph celebrating the designer’s spectacular oeuvre. For this assignment, the photographer captures the behind-the-scenes imagery that goes into creating the richly styled vignettes in the volume, which will be published by Rizzoli and is slated for release in December 2017. The behind-the-scenes photographer explored Guo Pei’s designs in candid moments at locations throughout the low country. The supplemental images provide a closer examination of each garment’s ornate artistry and opulent details.
