The brief for this project was pretty open ended: design a book. It was assigned for a typography class, so there obviously were expectations for it to be typography-focused and follow a grid system, but those were pretty much the only guidelines. That's just how Free Willie rolls...

I'm a big fan of historical fiction, but I was always disappointed by the way women's roles were grossly underplayed. To set the historical record straight, I decided to write and design a short book detailing the truth behind Henry VIII's wives entitled "Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived" after the rhyme people often use to remember the order of his wives.

Willie sure liked the final result, and it was shortlisted for the Communication Arts Design Competition.
