Iceland has always been on my Wanderlist. For my first trip to Iceland I decided to go in winter, partially to avoid the crowds, but mainly because I find winter, with all the cold and ice and snow to be magical. I brought my daughter along to be my model. I know the color palette of the landscape would mainly be blue and white, and so I wardrobed my daughter in colors that would pop against that landscape. Thus all the yellow and red. This was one of those in-between locations. We were driving and just saw this fantastic lake with these absolutely perfect reflections of mountains and sky. The lake was very shallow so my daughter could wander into the middle of it. We must have spent 3 hours shooting there. The light, the reflections, the colors. It was all magical. All available light.
