Denali National Park celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2017 and wanted a new logo to mark – and market – the occasion. The client wanted an image that addressed a younger demographic and incorporated wildlife indigenous to the park and – of course – the park's world-famous mountain.
The mark uses a silhouette of Denali as its centerpiece, and incorporates a Dall sheep – one of the park's most iconic residents and familiar ambassador to the park's many visitors. The final logo shows the sheep summiting Denali, while remaining friendly and welcoming.
As a teaser, the park has begun using elements of the new mark to identify events leading up to the centennial celebration next year. The client is looking forward to introducing the new logo to park visitors, and are confident it will help them expand their visitor base. It will be highly visible, as it will be used across all of the park's marketing and merchandise during the upcoming centennial year.
