This assignment was approached by focusing on the relationship between gun control and politics. After researching the topics separately, laws surrounding gun safety lead us to the CAP law (child access prevention law). The CAP law states that it is illegal for an adult to keep a gun in a place a child can easily access and fire an arm. From there we began to look for idioms relating to being locked and restricted. The phrases “locked and loaded and “lock and load” were compelling to the issue of gun safety and incidents that occur in homes where guns are present. We then began looking for images that could correlate with those two idioms and it changed from “locked and loaded” to “locked in arms”.
