A branding project for an online immersive art school which teaches motion skills through a dive-in experience of a world full of moving elements, and through three main aspects: physics, narrative, and philosophy. The Physics department focuses on the science of motion, the Narrative department focuses on the storytelling of motion; while the Philosophy department focuses on the immersion of motion elements and the meditational power of motion.The goal of this project is to introduce the agendas of this conceptual art school by building a model of the virtual space and to create an information system to communicate the idea in the best way possible.
I used 3 basic shapes to represent the three main aspects of motion: physics, narrative, and philosophy. As an immersive art school, which will not only live on-screen but also be delivered in a VR environment, I recreate the shapes in 3D space as the three main "department" of this motion school to direct users by hover and clicking on them. I also introduced the mobile and desktop versions of the application. Using the peaceful monocolor of white and grays, I was able to boost up the meditational concept of motion and bring the focus to the shapes and agendas.
The modeling and branding work well together to promote the agenda of my conceptual motion school, and the project was highly rated by our professor Ellen Lupton. She believed that the concept of this motion school could become a real proposal and be carried out as a real product. I believe that the goal of this project is achieved.
