CF Napa was tasked with the opportunity to design the logo and packaging for a new, nautical-themed restaurant and brewery in Newport Beach. CF Napa provided input on possible names for the brewery – Helmsman Ale House was selected.
Approach
A weathered sailor became the icon for the brand. His tenure steering at the helm made him become one with the ship. His beard gradually morphs into tentacles that intertwine with the ship’s wheel. The helmsman icon was given a distressed texture as if slowly faded by the salt water and wind one faces on a ship.
Results
The logo was utilized as the main graphic on a crowler can, growler and growler hang tag.
