Central to the brand is the story of two unlikely friends and the bottle carries the story of their kinship and their journey to create this unique spirit. We hand crafted calligraphy which was then screened on to the bottle, along with the brands logo mark - the ‘Dirk’ is an old scottish dagger carried by outlaws and smugglers of the time.
A modern twist on the traditional - the bottle, like the spirit, builds character and recognition with a nod to classic whisky labelling and typography while using modern techniques for decoration.
We employed a two part label system on Fedrigoni Tintoretto Black Paper, with a deep Emboss and gold foil - along with three levels of direct to bottle decoration including high build varnish to raise the profile and tactility of the whole bottle. The typography is immediately reminiscent of traditional whisky labelling, while the 'dirk' and the calligraphy applied to the bottle tells a more modern side of the story - of the owners, their spirit and their rebellious Whisky aged rum.
Restrained, yet decorative — the brand and bottle straddles the old and the new, the simple and complex. Mirroring the spirit contained within it.
