An animation I made for a track called "Sonic Remnants" by Jaka Nežmah.
It was created for a school project in the 6th semester at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana.
It is an abstract visualisation of sound, in other words a tangible form of the musical composition, designed through my own interpretation.

From the idea to the final solution I found that my creative process was actally quite spontaneous, but nevertheless efficiet. When I started working, I intentionally left the concept vague, because of my lack of experience with the programme (Adobe AfterEffects) and could not yet forsee all the possibilities and functions it offered to me. The creative process was also regularely overseen and somewhat guided by my mentor, however, that never interfeered with my freedom of expression, it only gave me an outside perspective of an experienced designer. I have done a few short animations prior, but I would say this one defenitely elevated my capabilities and understanding of the technique. From drawings in my sketchbook to the final result in has been an exciting and instructive jurney.

The results were very positive and frankly better, than I had anicipated. I would say, that both my mentor and the author of the song were quite positively surprised. It will also be used by the author as means for a music video for his track.
