Design an identity and branding strategy for a project or cause (of your own invention) that, through design, addresses a pressing social issue and demonstrates the value of design in a clear, compelling and accessible way. The social issue should reflect your personal passions and interests. You are encouraged to apply design thinking – the combination of unleashed creativity and executable actions – to a problem you are intimately familiar with.
Politics on social media is a constant occurrence in today's politically charged environment. It's mostly a sea of noise full of lies, extreme bias, uneducated opinions, and pure B.S.
Pants On Fire strives to be the contextual spell-check of politically charged statements by providing truth, clarity, and accountability to a sea of political noise. This is achieved by utilizing modern technology to provide an easily digestible score for users to use on any social media platform.
By providing an easy way to determine the legitimacy of someone's politically charged post, users are held more accountable for what they or others decide to publicly share on social media. Also, by providing easily accessible sources to contextualized statements, Pants On Fire creates opportunities to inform users through vetted sources.
The Pants on Fire project was a call to the increasing number of incorrect and politically charged information that’s being spread throughout social media platforms. This project started as a simple branding project that included a number of deliverables, but my own ambition and vision led to an exploration into UX and UI design through mobile applications. This project also resulted an in-depth exploration of mobile storefronts and social media pages.
