To design a chair that represents an art movement combined with a personal story.

I designed a chair that reminds me to be more confident, to stand tall, and to embrace the difficulties of life. One part of surrealism is combining two different things to make something new. So I designed a chair that would be both a table and a chair. The chair representing self-confidence and the table representing the difficulties of life.

The chair was formed from the dimensions from my body. It is 5'9" and reminds me to stand tall. I chose a minimal black and white color palette that symbolize, positive and negative. Even though the chair and the table are black, the area you sit on is white.
