Dallas Market Center (DMC) is a family held 5,000,000 square foot wholesale trade center housing showrooms exhibiting a diverse range of consumer products and caters for a large regional and international audience of buyers and exhibitors. Design Week is an important event for DMC bringing together designers, speakers, and influencers to reinforce DMC as the center of inspiration, discovery, and international commerce. The task was to redesign the Design Week logo to reflect DMC's ambition to connect with a diverse audience of designers.
The previous Design Week logo and identity was viewed as lacking visual strength and presence, and not associated closely enough to the Dallas Market Center masterbrand, thereby missing an opportunity to build greater brand connections with Designers and creative influencers.
The new logo is tightly aligned to the newly redesigned DMC masterbrand identity and uses the core idea of the continuous 'ribbon' of creativity that flows through the design process --forming the 'd' in Design and Dallas-- communicating the twists and turns of the journey towards an inspired solution.
The newly launched Design Week branding aims to keep DMC’s leadership position as the most complete wholesale trade resource in the world. The forward thinking and highly flexible visual identity system is focused on the designer and creative communities and has already received very positive feedback, and future brand activations are expected to heavily leverage the new look.
