The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) was launched at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference. Their goal is to accelerate an inclusive energy transition as an on-ramp for human opportunity. The Global Energy Alliance will deliver transformational programs that will accelerate and scale an equitable energy transition in developing and emerging economies. To do this, they will bring together preeminent philanthropic, government, donor, MDB, DFI, and private sector partners to build a unique international platform to transform the energy system in 60+ developing and emerging countries. The goal is to end energy poverty globally and enable sustainable energy for all. Specifically, they want to avoid and avert 4 billion tons of greenhouse gases. Extend access to sustainable, reliable, productive-use energy to 1 billion underserved people. Unlock 150 million green jobs that will generate inclusive economic growth around the globe.
