The Progressive Corporation ranks third in the nation for auto insurance, with more than 11 million customers. The company offers competitive rates and makes 24-hour, in-person and online services available to drivers throughout the United States and Canada. For the past 34 years, The Progressive Corporation has commissioned visual communications firm, Nesnadny + Schwartz (N+S), to create its Annual Report. The firm’s role has been to develop the conceptual and visual direction, create the overall design, and manage production from inception to delivery.
To express the 2016 Progressive Annual Report conceptual theme of “Transition,” which addresses a new CEO leading the company, N+S partnered with artist Lucia Koch, who explores changing the spaces we inhabit through large scale photographs of the inside of consumer packaging — creating the illusion of rooms — along with site-specific installations where she transforms spaces through color and light. N+S’s further explored the notion of Transition by employing gradient vellum pages strategically paced throughout the book.
The 2016 Progressive Annual Report is used by the company to communicate with shareholders, employees, potential investors, and analysts, as well as various local, state, and national governmental agencies. This year’s Report has been lauded as fresh and innovative, and has received congratulatory reactions from Progressive employees, shareholders, and customers, as well as media and communication outlets.
