Eksjö museum in Sweden had the summer of 2015 a design exhibition with the best vinyl covers from 1955 to 2015. Since I've done many album covers, I was asked to do the exhibition's identity. The goal was to attract visitors who might not normally go to museums. The selection was made of 20 individuals with different topics.
The initial idea was to use some of all the fantastic covers that appeared on the show. But which? It felt better to entice everyone's own imagination and favorites. We have probably all a relationship with a special cover. I wanted the design to be seen clearly and make the name LP noticeable for it's strong and clear in its simplicity. That the poster would be quadrangular was obvious!
The identity became popular. The poster was very visible and the image was spread a lot on social media. Many took the road past the small town in southern Sweden to revel in the magic of the covers and dream himself back to the moment with the favorite artist on the player and the LP cover in hand.
