For this assignment, I was tasked with creating an original typeface inspired by and named for a newhouse staff member using Glyphsmini. My muse was Kristin Cutler, my academic advisor.

I designed a thin, geo-sans serif typeface inspired by Ms.Cutlers friendly, open, warm and approachable personality. I wanted the typeface to be delicate and modern yet charming and friendly. Its overall minimalistic, clean and simple personality makes it versatile and gives it the ability to be utilized for many different design purposes. It features short cross strokes, thin width, short x height, tall ascenders, rounded terminals and curved descenders on some letterforms.
The name coordinate has two meanings and pronunciations depending on interpretation. One meaning alludes to Ms.Cutler's current position as an advisor (who coordinates with students) and also her master's degree in geography (geographical coordinates.)

My muse was ecstatic to see what I had created and was very pleased with her typeface. She described it as "perfect" for her.
During my final presentation over zoom, my classmates loved my typeface so much that they asked me to share the file in the chat so they could download and use it in their future work. Additionally, my professor was impressed by my typeface and described it as "beautiful" and "very well-done."
