Oxfam wanted to raise awareness of gender inequality in developing countries. They needed a campaign that would specifically target the design community. As designers we have the power to draw attention to social issues through our skills. The brief was to communicate the message that collectivising our skills can help ignite conversation on the issue of gender inequality.
We created a poster campaign that got to the point. No wasted sentences, just clear facts about gender injustice. To specifically target the design community the messages were seeded with subtle design language and literally executed. The execution was purposely anti-ornate. Nothing frivolous. The design language played out across the series would be noticed by the keen eye of a designer.
The campaign was launched in February and has already gained traction within the design community in Australia. Still in it's infancy, the campaign will run for a further 3 months and will be supported by several keynote speak events and activation.
