The goal of this project was to create an enterprise app for a bar that would make the job of the bartender, and the staff as a whole, much easier.

While there are many bar inventory apps out there, this one worked to seamlessly combine liquor inventory, liquor ordering, and staff communication into an all-in-one app. The decided name, “Bar Key,” makes a reference to a multi-purpose tool used by bartenders, and also implies that this app is the key to success for any bar. The visual design showcases a dark-mode theme that uses blurred, colorful lighting in the background to give the user a feeling of being in an underground bar.

This app brings success to its users by combining all essential elements of the job into one. On this app, bartenders and bar managers can mark items as out-of-stock, which then notifies the entire staff when a liquor item has run out. It also allows bar managers to go right in and add that item to the liquor order, which is queued to be sent on a scheduled date, eliminating the problem of having to remember to place the liquor order on a certain day of the week. As a necessity, bartenders and managers also communicate through the app instead of through texting, Facebook, and other means. All of these elements combined create a seamless experience behind the bar, preventing miscommunication and running out of items.
