Development of a series of 4 campaign posters to promote a flower culture for a florist “Suiren” located in Ebisu, Tokyo - a stylish town where 400,000 people come and go on a daily basis. Our assignment was to let people become aware of the fascinating relationship between flowers and human.
Approach
“Mederu” is the traditional Japanese expression for feeling love about the subject when seeing and enjoying the beauty. We used this term “mederu” as a design concept to express the simple act of appreciating the beauty. The traditional expression represents rich and calm human feeling of loving, admiring and appreciating. We believe that flowers are the most familiar presence in our modern society to trigger this “mederu” feeling. We used the impactful flower visuals to communicate our message to let people become aware that flowers are very familiar to us in our society.
Results
There has been an increase in the number of people purchasing flowers at florists around Ebisu station including “Suiren”.
