This poster was developed in response to a prompt for a curated online exhibition on the theme of 30 Days Drunk.

The poster plays on and explains an alternate and little-known outside of Ireland, meaning for the word 'Ossified'. To ossify is to turn to bone, but in Ireland to be ossified is to be so drunk you become implacable and inpenetrable. I have always liked the sinister side of this widely-used phrase in Ireland, and chose to focus on the loss of control, dissolution and vulnerability of this level of inebriation.

The poster uses custom lettering for the word Ossified, as well as an abstract figure made out of the texture of bone to convey a feeling of instability and falling from one state to another. The gradual change from soft fleshy tones to grey is intended to mimic the subject matter, and the haphazard arrangement of dates and lines is intended to serve as a disintegrating timeline that describes my own personal history with alcohol.
