The Chapeau Brun is a keeved Cider, which is a traditional French style of hard cider that is naturally sweet due to its long, slow fermentation. Chapeau Brun translates to Brown Hat in French, and the cider gets its name from the accumulation of nutrients that forms a gel cap and rises to the top during fermentation.
The design for this label incorporates imagery inspired by some of the processes used in traditional cider making and the illustrations resemble old fashioned etchings and woodcuts. This look is complimented by the champagne style bottle and is juxtaposed with the Cajun cork used to seal it.
