The student's task is to produce a large-format program/poster announcing SAIC’s School of Architecture, Spring 2016 Lecture Series.

The design process started with a careful analysis of the given text of the program. After conducting researches on each speakers’ architectural output, I found valuable insights to aid the formulation of possible visual approaches.

My design of the 2016 SAIC Architecture Lecture Series poster depicts the progression of material usage in architecture through a layered 3D perspective— from massive, heavy-weight material such as marble and stone to contemporary mediums like metal strings and glass. The composition of the poster, on the other hand, was inspired by, Jiricana, one of the key speakers' staircase designs and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum located in NYC.
