Assignment was to make a poster for the 160th anniversary of Georges Melies birth with motto "Melies, the magician of cinema".

Idea was to show that he was illusionist and filmmaker, famous for his technical and narrative development at the dawn of cinematography, innovated in the use od special effects (he was one of the first filmmakers to use multiple exposure). All these was some kind of starting point for my poster.
Of course, his film "A Trip to the Moon" could not be missed.

Everyone was surprised and glad they didn’t get a fairly worn-out rocket scene crashing into the eye of the moon.
