This is a public facility which has several functions such as large and small halls, lecture rooms and gallery etc. We are requested to introduce “something like Koganei city” into this building.

We expressed shapes of park, river and spring water as a concrete form in the building based on the geographical features of Koganei city, filled with lush greenery and streams.
A stage curtain for main hall is also designed by us as one of space components of this building, we selected “roads of Koganei city” for the motif of design.

People have familiarity with this facility since they could see their familiar roads and greenery as a visible shape. They feel their own identity of city in this building, and that has established in the results of originality different from other common similar facilities.
