The purpose of this poster series is to generate excitement and anticipation around the Jack Daniel's Invitational BBQ Championship, which takes place each year in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Every year, the world's most prestigious BBQ competition takes place in Lynchburg, Tennessee-a town with only one stoplight. In 2017, DVL Seigenthaler parlayed this charming irony to get BBQ participants and spectators from all over the world in a celebratory, dancing mood. Because let's face it, when you make it to Lynchburg, you know you've arrived.

To properly represent this fine, handcrafted old-time whiskey brand, we thought it only appropriate to use fine, handcrafted, old-time production methods like hand-carved illustrations and offset lithography, which give each poster a unique quality.

Ninety teams from all over the world competed at the 29th Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue, including teams from Austria, Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Attendance at the event soared at nearly 22,000 people. The coveted posters sold out at the Lynchburg Hardware Store on the Wednesday before ‘The Jack’ and were also given to each of the event’s judges who consider them collector’s items and treasured mementos from the event. Once again, the event garnered significant local, national and international media coverage.
