A desktop or wall calendar in the form of a flipbook animation was created as an upgrade of a static calendar. The handmade wooden frame contains twenty-four frames, which turn into a circular animation of the months in 2020 when the side handle is rotated.
As the calendar is set for 2020, due to the ongoing social and political situation with the pandemic, lockdowns and protests around the world, it is extremely appropriate and really fits in this enchanted, strange and dark year. Just as the calendar itself is never over as it spins in a circle, it seems like this year will never come to an end.
The project itself is calendar design, however it is presented in a video format since it best represents the calendar as a 3D object and adds a feeling of this long and dark year which photos would not have been able to show.
