The project specs were fairly open-ended and involved simply developing a concept of our own choosing into a developed portfolio sample piece. I decided to invent an art exhibition titled "Shapes + Spaces" and create a variety of deliverables around this concept.
Approach
Because this exhibition deals with a rather abstract concept, I decided to constrain the color palette to primarily black and white with blue accents. I wanted to focus on the graphic nature of the letterforms themselves and therefore focused on utilizing positive and negative space to create visual interest.
Results
The project was met with a positive reaction from both classmates and professors. It received full marks on the grading rubric.
