Oggetto Libro / Book Object is an international festival, now at its fourth edition, that compares Artist’s Book and Book Design with the aim of stimulating a debate on creativity. The fourth edition took place in Milan at the prestigious ADI Design Museum and at the National Braidense Library and has seen the participation of over 270 books from all over the world.
The festival was created in 2016 by Susanna Vallebona on the occasion of the XXI Triennale di Milano. The evente received the Honorable Mention of the Compasso d’Oro ADI.

Book Object catalog proposes the contents and the works exhibited at the festival. Catalog (and exhibition) is divided into 3 parts: Artist Books, Design Books and a mixed section of both (renamed as "hybrid").
A comparison, which explores the artist's book made with manual techniques, in a single copy, design book produced with industrial printing, and the hybrid book that combines techniques and processes of both types (manual technique and industrial ones).
The catalog proposes these 3 parts as a single object that can be opened in 3 different ways. The catalog is bound in simulated Bodonian binding, with hot foil on the cover.

But the catalog wants to be a book beyond the book.
For this reason this edition of the festival makes use of the unprecedented experience of Augmented Reality, that offers us the opportunity to enjoy intangible content through print media. 106 books in the catalog (and exhibition too) are in Augmented Reality, which shows contents others, otherwise unattainable.

The festival has been very successful, despite the pandemic situation. Particular appreciation was expressed for the presence of augmented reality. This combination of printed catalog and digital content is unprecedented.
