Assignment: carte-blanche to photograph anything for the final graduation portfolio
Approach: to portray the food we eat in a different light that makes us really think about what we put into our bodies. A lobster is an expensive delicacy that looks like some sort of venomous sea scorpion; yet if you ask the average person if the've ever eaten insects you'd probably trigger an instant gag-reflex. Here I'm trying to give the lobster life and personality, as if he's an old bar buddy waving to you from the smoke-pit.
I rigged this guy up with some tie wire to mold him into position and then stuck a cig in his claw and lit it.
I concluded the project by boiling him in water for 18 minutes and serving with garlic butter
My instructor thought it was quite humorous and thought the antennae made him look like Salvador Dali
