Approach
A three-part, letterpress printed, public service announcement poster series promoting common-sense and straightforward ways to stay safe while at school or in public. This limited-edition series was printed using Legos on a Vandercook Universal III press. The series was initially composed in Adobe Illustrator and then translated to a series of type high Lego boards. BRED designed and illustrated these posters exploring the vocabulary of bitmap images, dot-matrix typography, and using bright day-glow colors to combat our sometimes grey “new normal.” This series of vibrant 14” x 17” public service announcement posters serve as a friendly reminder to keep the Pace University community safe!
Results
The posters, well received by the Pace University – NYC campus students, faculty, and staff, serve as a not-so-common playful, innovative solution. They bridge a thoughtful, friendly, common-sense reminder that we all have a responsibility for keeping our community healthy and safe.
