The project assignment was to utilize experimental photography without the use of Lightroom or Photoshop. The goal was to capture the attention of people passing by in the halls of our studio.

My concept was to create a modern twist of a scene from the story, “Alice in Wonderland.” First, I experimented with many different types of camera angles to determine the best way to depict this scene. Next, I focused my attention on experimental lighting and the use of props. I then utilized bright flashes and many colored gels to further illustrate my concept. After a lot of exploration within these variables, I preferred a high angle shot through the rope, with a red background, and carefully selected props that supported my vision.

The result was a very concise, chaotic piece that showcases how Alice is going mad while being in the clutches of the Queen of Hearts. My image was successful and my professor was thrilled with the result.
