Lavazza approached us four years ago to develop the branding for a premium diffusion line of coffee that would marry their heritage of artistry and excellence with a forward-thinking, technologically advanced approach to sourcing and production. This line, 1895 by Lavazza, needed to emphasize expertise in sourcing — highlighting hyperlocal beans from across the globe — stand out from the competition, and wrap everything up in premium, best-in-class package design.
*TraceElement helped to design the identity for 1895 by Lavazza, and with that foundation designed the packaging for this line of single origin coffees. The single-origin coffee line draws inspiration from the ecology of the country of origin. Illustrations of the coffee’s flavor notes are intertwined throughout, all executed in a geometric, but fluid illustration style that compliments the 1895 logo and brand aroma pattern.
1895 by Lavazza has been an outstanding success for Lavazza, and we’ve gone on to execute many other pieces of creative for the brand, from equipment to additional coffee packaging copy, to brand partnerships and even interior design guidance for a factory and cafés.
