Homeless youth, unlike homeless adults, are less willing to admit that they’re experiencing homelessness. In turn, they also may work harder to try to blend in with peers who aren’t homeless. While seen as a privilege to many, a cell phone in the hands of these homeless youths is not only a life line that can mean the difference between a cold street or a warm bed, but also a tool used to appear as advantaged as their peers. In this series of homeless youth awareness posters, in order to bring attention to this veil put up by homeless youths, I reference the present day youth culture of posting images and hashtags on social media that have the appearance of an ideal life.
