The goal was to create a poster that send a message to protect, save and respect America's Public Lands. Public Lands are very important because in these lands we find national parks, national monuments, national forests, etc. In 2017 President Trump announced his plan to dramatically reduce the size of two national monuments in Utah—Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante. This is the largest rollback of protected lands in American history. The decision also undermines the integrity of the Antiquities Act, which 16 presidents from both parties have used to designate and protect national monuments over the last 111 years.
The idea was to show a symbol of the public lands. It is a topographic map with the shape of an American buffalo. For me this animal is beautiful and represents not only the wilderness in the US but also a part of the US History. I used colors that are near of nature: green, brown, blue and sepia.
