The third in our series of self-initiated social justice newspapers. This edition focuses on the current Central American refugee crisis. Our aim with these publications is to raise awareness about these issues and to raise funds for organizations working on behalf on these marginalized communities.
This edition gathers creative responses from across the Latin American community, presenting ways artists and thinkers engage with this ongoing humanitarian crisis. This newspaper is an invitation for the audience to listen, to look, to see. The newspaper is divided into four posters that cover four of the most tragic events emanating from this crisis. A number of articles and poems also shed light on these events.
We sold over 140 copies of the newspapers. All the funds from the sales plus anonymous donations were given to the shelter Hermanos en el Camino in Mexico.
