While traveling in Europe, Eric Glandian fell in love with the homemade oats and fruit cups called overnight oats. After returning, he started Zen Monkey in his apartment and created his own overnight oats for sale at area Farmer’s Markets. The product was quickly successful. Eric expanded his flavor selections and made his first retail partnership with Whole Foods.
Zen Monkey had grown organically, was enjoying initial success, and was ready to take the brand to the next level. Eric came to Chase for a complete rebrand and repackaging of his product.
Chase started from the brand foundations with the Zen Monkey team. Persona development, positioning and a core brand manifesto was created for Zen Monkey. This work provided the inspiration and overall strategic guidance for the design development. The resulting logo and packaging redesign for the brand captures Zen Monkey’s fun, casual brand character as well as the deliciously fresh flavor of the product.
The new branding and packaging design has supported Zen Monkey’s expansion to new flavors and generated strong customer interest.
