Design and produce an annual report that was the fourth in a series for the current CEO. The bright cover was selected to complement the three previous year's AR covers. This AR also includes a special strategy section, following the letter that highlights IFC's mission, strategy and capabilities.
The IFC approach to AR development includes two input meetings directly with the CEO, to make sure his vision is clearly executed. He is most focused on the front cover, letters and strategy section, which lists all notable awards IFC has won for the past year, including design awards. Adding awards into the AR was the CEO's request. The cover is conceptual, in this case using a colorized image of fiber optics to emphasize their support of tech development in the world's poorest countries. The strategy section also uses brightly colored imagery, showcasing the various types of projects IFC's financing and partnerships put into motion around the world, as they invest to ensure impact. Separately, they have a 42-page case study section with more detail on specific projects recently completed or in process. Year in Review data for IFC and the greater World Bank Group follow along with process, sustainability and governance information, and summary financial data.
IFC's CEO and execs were thrilled with the AR, which highlighted their strategic messaging for all stakeholders. So much so that he held it up at their Town Hall meeting as a beautiful example of materials they produce and a reference for the great work they accomplish. The AR was also well received by their internal staff, who use the AR as a key document to support all presentations and proposals.
